Guide to Animal Lore.

The Animal Lore skill serves three purposes:

1) When used on a pet/tameable creature it will display its str/dex/int hits/stam/mana and skill values, along with it's "pack instincts" if applicable and how happy (hungry) it is and it's armour rating and prefered food types.

2) The skill Animal Lore traditionally accounts for about 20% of your ability to control your pets.

3) In the same way Anatomy compliments Healing, Animal Lore compliments Veterinary and is essential to be able to cure/ressurect your pets with bandages.

While Animal Lore can be gained "passively" through using Veterinary or Animal Taming, the fastest way to gain is to simply buy/tame a pet and repeatedly use the skill on it.

Animal Taming

Animal Taming, quite simply, is used to tame animals. It accounts for about 80% of your chance to control your pets (complimented by Animal Lore for the final 20%) and the higher it is the more likely you are to succeed in taming and controling the creature.

Animal Taming is an "un-macro-able" skill and must be done manually. There may be some macros that make the taming easier, but the process cannot be automated.

It is suggested you start with 50 taming or buy it up as high as you can then tame the following animals according to your current skill:

30-60 rabbits/pigs/horses/other small animals - Can be found in the forests around Britain/Moonglow and many other towns.

60-70 hinds/polar bears/snow leapords/grey+white wolves - Can be found on Ice Isle.

70-80 wolves/dire wolves/great harts - Can be found around Delucia and in many forests around most towns.

80-100 bulls - Can be found around Delucia.

Also there are abundant spawns of animals for most taming levels at the Jhelom Farms and the small island on the east side of Trinsic.
